Happening on Broadway …

Broadway takes over Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Broadway will take center stage in the 85th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The parade will feature Daniel Radcliffe and the cast of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and the casts of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Sister Act and Spider Man, Turn Off the Dark will perform. The Radio City Rockettes will also be performing.

Megan Fox to make Broadway debut this month

Megan Fox will make her Broadway debut later this month for this year’s 24 Hour Plays. The annual project, which sees actors, writers and directors collaborate to create a series of plays in 24 hours. Also taking part in the project are Jesse Eisenberg, Julia Stiles, Sarah Silverman and Woody Harrelson. All of the plays produced will be presented on November 14 at the American Airlines Theatre with proceeds going to charity.

Funny Girl postponed

The upcoming Broadway revival of Funny Girl with Lauren Ambrose and bobby Cannavale has been postponed indefinitely due to the economy. “We have made the extremely difficult decision today to postpone our production,” lead producer Bob Boyett said. Funny Girl was set to open at the Imperial Theatre in April 2012.
