The Wizard of Oz—from the iconic ruby red slippers, to ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ and the infamous flying monkeys, the story of Dorothy and the adventure to Oz she has with the Lion, Scarecrow, Tinman and others is one that many grow up watching-either on television or in theater. But imagine if as a kid, you got to experience the Wizard of Oz in a way most wouldn’t–by being a part of a professional production?
It’s an opportunity that local kids from the Chagrin Falls Intermediate School Select Choir will get to experience this weekend, by being a part of the cast of The Wizard of Oz, part of the U.S. Bank Star Performance Series, which will be in the Palace Theatre October 28-30.
This opportunity will provide the CFIS Select Choir with real-life touring theatre experience–both a unique experience and incredible opportunity for these aspiring actors/actresses to follow their yellow brick road! The children that will perform are Mikala Izzo, Jillian Zaffiro, Rachel Hoy, Molly Carroll, Devin Gilmore, Georgia Markey, Marley Vidmar, Chandler Wood, Avery Wood, and Natalie Welch.
Check out WKYC’s Good Company Wednesday morning, October 26 to see the kids and get a sneak peek of the show.
