Summer fun can be expensive, but this month it doesn’t have to be. Celebrate August with some free summer events at PlayhouseSquare!

Thursday, August 11, you actually have the chance to check out two fun and free events at PlayhouseSquare–and you don’t even have to choose between the two.

Right after work, stop by Star Plaza for a free outdoor concert by the School of Rock Headliners. Not only will there be live music and great people, but there will also be some excellent happy hour specials as part of the third Blue Light Lime Outdoor Concert Series show. We’ve been having a great time cooking out and kicking back in Star Plaza during the previous two concerts, so make sure you don’t miss this last one! Grab some food or a drink and enjoy the fun downtown atmosphere while we still have this great weather in Cleveland.

After relaxing at the concert, head across Euclid Ave. at 7:30 for a special free showing of Jailhouse Rock in the Palace Theatre. As part of the 14^th Annual Cinema at the Square Series, this Elvis classic will be shown on a 20-feet-high by 47-feet-wide super Hurly-Glo projection screen. Did you know that’s the largest non-Imax screen in the entire state of Ohio?
