We’ve been talking about it for weeks, months and maybe even years and next Wednesday, it will be here. Campers, consider this your early morning wake-up call! Fat Camp opens July 13!
To be honest, we’ve literally flown by the seat of our pants and have done what we affectionately call “made it up as we go” for a new program called “Page to Stage”. The idea was simple; how can we help an upcoming show and provide a safe environment to work in before a major transition to Broadway? Enter, Fat Camp. After a long standing relationship with the Dodgers, a New York based producing agency well-known for the Tony Award winning mega-sensation Jersey Boys, PlayhouseSquare determined that collaboration with the Dodgers and Fat Camp would be a perfect fit for this vision.
Beginning on Wednesday, July 13, audiences will have the opportunity to be a part of a musical metamorphosis where they’ll receive a unique insider’s look into the creation of a Broadway-bound musical and have an opportunity to see how a show is launched. The entire event promises to be an experience that theater patrons rarely get to witness and one that encourages post-show interaction with cast members, technical crews, PlayhouseSquare staff and the shows producers.

The audience really will have a HUGE impact on the show. Not only will you rate the show as you walk out of the theater but you will also receive a post-show survey asking for your feedback. Sunday: Social Sundays. Enjoy and informal mingle and meet and greet with the cast in the Hanna Theatre Lobby after the show.
