Happening on Broadway …

The stars were out for the 77th Annual Drama League Awards
Broadway celebrated its favorite productions of the year on May 20 at the 77th Annual Drama League Awards, where The Book of Mormon took home Distinguished Production of a Musical and War Horse took Distinguished Production of a Play, according to Broadway.com. Playbill.com reported a new musical titled Natural Woman is in the works, which documents the life and career of singer/songwriter Carole King. The production is said to feature many of her hit songs.

Giuseppe Bausilio is the newest addition to the Broadway cast of Billy Elliott, and he now joins the ranks of 14 other individuals who have played the role on Broadway. Bausilio is quite familiar with the role, though, as he was a part of the original Chicago cast as well as the national touring production, where he played the role in ten different cities.
