Jump Back Ball is just around the corner, so that means it’s time to figure out what you’re going to wear.
With this year’s global theme – Passport to Party – you’re in luck; there are so many options!
Jump Back Ball is a creative black tie event. We encourage guests to spice up their formal wear with creative tie or bowtie patterns for men, unique accessories for the ladies, or however you chose to interpret this year’s theme.
There are six different parties from around the world being represented at Jump Back Ball this year. We thought we’d throw out a couple of ideas on how to fashionably incorporate these worldly festivals into your formal wear.
This German festival has its own interpretations in plenty of American cities, but the main event takes place in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, from late September to early October.

Ladies, try an off-the-shoulder dress or cover-up to invoke the peasant-style dresses, or dress up a neutral-toned dress with Bavarian-inspired jewelry. Men, dress up your tux with a hat with a feather in it, or opt for suspenders.
The Running of the Bulls is a Spanish festival, which involves individuals running in front of a small group of bulls on a course. The most famous event takes place in July each year.
Those attending the Spanish festival wear all white, with red scarves and belts. Women can copy this style by adding a red scarf to a black and white dress, while men can replace the traditional black tie with a red one. Just watch out for the bulls!
This winter wonderland festival, also known as Carnaval de Quebec, takes place from late January to mid-February. It’s all about celebrating Quebec tourism. From a winter amusement park to an ice-sculpted castle, this festival embraces the snow.
There’s no traditional clothing associated with this festival, but needless to say, guests need to bundle up before they head out. Men and women can evoke the wintry theme of this festival by incorporating faux fur and icy tones into their formal wear and accessories.
The Full Moon Party celebrates the gorgeous site of the full moon over Thailand each month. Known as the world’s biggest beach party, it’s an all night long affair with lots of dancing and spectacle.

You can take a couple different routes if you choose to incorporate this party: beach-inspired or traditional Thai-inspired. To add a Thai twist to your formal wear, choose a dress with sparkle, or add gold jewelry or cuff links. Or go the beach route, and choose summery tones.
The Kite Festival is a one day celebration in Jaipur, India. It’s the official day for flying kites in the city, and the people certainly embrace it; it becomes hard to see the blue sky, as it is overtaken with a wave of kites in all colors.
Kites, with their bright colors and flowing materials, are the perfect inspiration for a memorable outfit. Don’t be afraid to go for a multi-colored dress or tie; this is your perfect opportunity to make a bold statement. Ladies, add ribbons to your hair or outfit for the finishing touch.
The Chinese New Year celebration is the most important of traditional Chinese holidays. The fifteen day festival marks the beginning of the new year, and ideals like family, happiness and longevity are celebrated through various festivities.

Traditional Chinese clothing is a common inspiration for formal wear. If you’d rather not buy a Chinese-inspired dress, simply opt for reds, oranges and yellows. Spice it up with gold jewelry.
