Happening on Broadway …
Cast of Lombardi breaks down fourth wall
Last weekend, the cast of the Broadway play Lombardi embraced the current Green Bay Packers team’s success as they took on the Chicago Bears in the NFC title game. The show is about legendary Packers coach Vince Lombardi, so during the curtain call, Dan Lauria, who plays the title character, announced that the Packers were up 14-0. The cast is rooting for their “team” to win the Superbowl against the Steelers next weekend.
Another touch of Broadway on TV?
Another network is trying to reach FOX’s Glee fanbase. NBC has announced plans to air a pilot episode of Smash, a new series about the process of putting together a Broadway musical. Steven Spielberg will be the executive producer.
