Happening on Broadway…

Ben Stiller to return to Broadway stage
He may be better known as a movie star, but one of Ben Stiller’s first roles was on Broadway – he played the son in the play The House of Blue Leaves. Soon, he’ll be reprising in the show’s revival – this time as the father.  Read more about Stiller’s family history with this play.

Film producers eyeing Broadway shows
Broadway musical The Scottsboro Boys closed abruptly this past Sunday, but fans are holding out hope that the show, chronicling the true story of nine Alabama teenagers of the 1930s, will be adapted into a movie.  Find out more about how movie producers are turning to closed Broadway shows as inspiration.

Holiday shows heat up Broadway

PlayhouseSquare in the News…

Plans for the Middough Building on E. 13th are finalized: the building will house a preschool through graduate arts education program, shared by PlayhouseSquare, Cleveland State’s undergraduate and graduate drama and dance department, the Cleveland Play House and Case Western Reserve’s graduate acting program.  Read about the plans on Cleveland.com.
